Winpak’s vision is to provide the best packaging solutions for people and planet.  Winpak manufactures and distributes high-quality packaging materials and innovative packaging machines, primarily used for the protection of perishable foods, beverages, pharmaceuticals, medical and personal care. 

Winpak specializes in three main streams of packaging – Flexible Packaging, Rigid Packaging & Lidding, and Packaging Machinery.  The Company is closely aligned with Wipak, one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of packaging materials.  Winpak is actively engaged in driving the principles of a Circular Economy, and is a member of AMERIPEN, Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR), Flexible Packaging Association (FPA), PAC Global, Polypropylene Recycling Coalition and the Sustainable Packaging Coalition.

Winpak believes in delivering innovations and services that meet the needs of our customers and the markets they serve. To this end, Winpak has developed a broad portfolio of sustainable products that reflect these different needs and support the operational and sustainability targets our customers have established.

1. Post Consumer Recycled (PCR) Content – Winpak offers both mechanically recycled and ISCC PLUS certified circular content packaging innovations. Winpak can provide PCR content polypropylene (PP) rigid cups and trays, semi-rigid and flexible PCT PET substrates, and circular content polyethylene (PE) forming and non-forming films.
    
2. Recyclable – Winpak offers PP trays, cups, and custom containers that meet guidance criteria from APR (Association of Plastic Recyclers). Winpak is able to provide these recyclable formats through extrusion and thermoforming or injection molding processes. As a founding member of the PP Recycling Coalition, Winpak is fully committed to increase access and recovery of all PP packaging.
    
3. Recycle Ready Flexible Package Formats – Winpak was an early innovator in “recycle ready” flexible packaging. Winpak offers forming (ReForm) films, non-forming lidding (ReLam) and flow wrap (ReFlow) type films. There is a recycle ready pouch (RePouch) format along with a recycle ready chub product (ReChub) for ground protein. Additionally, under the WinClose brand, Winpak provides recycle ready reclosable and die-cut reclosable lid formats. Winpak has even developed a die cut lid (EcoSeal) that can substitute in certain cases for a foil lid. These recycle ready formats offer excellent mechanical, optical, and barrier properties along with good machinability on existing equipment.
    
4. Renewable Content Packaging – Winpak sees a growing need for packaging made from renewable content. Winpak offers paper-based solutions (EcoWrap) that work well in flow wrap type machinery. Winpak also offers a paper-based solution for the dairy industry (ButterWrap) specifically targeted for butter applications. Additional renewable content solutions are in development with expected commercialization in one to two years. Winpak targets for our renewable content solutions to be recyclable and/or compostable. Additionally, Winpak partners with resin suppliers to utilize bio-based or bio-renewable content as required by customers.
    
5. Downgauge & Lightweighting Solutions – In the hierarchy of sustainability, “reduce” is always top of mind. Winpak has several flexible package formats that meet this criteria vs traditional formats. Winpak’s Flow Wrap solution for ground beef reduces packaging weight up to 60% vs traditional tray/lid formats. And DURASHRINK® FV Flowvac not only reduces material consumption up to 25% but can bring increased automation vs traditional shrink bags.
