Shawpak is a leading manufacturer of a unique range of packaging equipment for medical devices, including rotary thermoforming machinery and pouch machinery.

Built in the UK at our state-of-the-art engineering facility  in Derby, every care has been taken to ensure the machines are built to the highest quality. 

Shawpak was formed in 2013 when David Shaw, CEO, thought that linear thermoforming machines - some of which are six metres long - could be condensed into a smaller machine, but with the same input. The first development was the revolutionary rotary thermoforming machine. 

Since then, Shawpak have developed a unique range of packaging equipment for medical devices, including rotary thermoforming machinery, rigid blister making equipment and pouch machinery.

With a focus on delivering the highest quality to our global customer base, Shawpak are ISO 9001 certified and our electrical engineers are certified to design, manufacture and build electrical panels to UL 508A standards.

From start to finish we offer a complete solution, dedicated to the medical industry, Shawpak are well positioned to provide service support with service teams based in Europe and North America.  Our service specialists are able to provide highly economical service plans which range from telephone support to tailor made total care packages.

Business on a whole
We have invested on 297 solar panels showing our commiment to green sustainable energy for the future. These will provide approximately 18% of our electricity needs for many years to come.

To reduce emissions the majority of company cars are now electric cars and there's dedicated electrical bays for employees with electric cars to take advantage of.

We continue to recycle cardboard and plastic with our local waste removal company and have dedicated bins for this. 

Products/Services
Unfortunately right now plastic is required in the medical world, due to the components in plastic it is used worldwide to package devices ensuring they are sterile and safe to use in hospitals etc.

While we can't eliminate the plastic right now we have designed a machine to minimise the waste of plastic and in most cases have zero waste. On all flexible packs there’s zero trim or waste, and on all rigid die cut packs there is very minimal waste giving you less wastage and reduction of plastic.

The unique design allows almost any material to be run at almost any web width, giving you the freedom to design the packaging around your specific product, avoiding unnecessary waste like traditional 'one size fits all' machine's.
